Front of house weathered
fivepound
Just buying a house and noticed that the bricks on the front of the house are weathered to the extent that on some of the bricks the face is cracking away. Apart from rendering the whole of the front of the house, is there anything else I can do?

Have you had a professional survey? I mean a full structural survey, not a valuation.
There are various remedies for this type of problem including doing nothing and just leaving it as it is. Bricks do weather with time and it is most likely that any damage is purely cosmetic. But you need to be certain that there are no long term problems.
You should get professional advice before signing contracts so that you know if there are any other problems and how much it will cost to put right.0 -
yes, its all been checked and this is 1 of the issues found. Rewiring - new boiler etc etc. The price is sooo good though Im not going to be silly and pick faults for the sake of it. i just want to get in there and start doing it up!0
