Kidney Research UK - who?
http://www.kidneyresearchukevents.org/walktocrail2012
I'm walking the East Neuk Coastal Path on 3rd June 2012 for Kidney Research UK.
Most people I talk to have heard of Cancer Research or the British Heart Foundation but very few people seem to know much about Kidney Research UK and the really valuable work they do.
Every hour of every day six people are diagnosed with end stage kidney disease. That’s one every 10 minutes! This means that they must face invasive life limiting dialysis, a kidney transplant from a matching donor or worse. Kidney Research UK support work leading to improved management, treatment and prevention of kidney disease and its complications. You only have to look at how survival rates for many kinds of disease have increased in the past few decades to realise that medical research CAN make a difference.
If you are a UK tax payer, please remember to Gift Aid your contribution so Kidney Research UK can claim 25% extra on top of your donation. This makes a big difference.
Thanks again for supporting me!
