Credit cards with Super Balance Transfers for flat deposit (renting)?

Hi everyone,
In a few months my boyfriend and I will be (hopefully!) moving from our current flat (shared with a friend) into our own place. Obviously we need to come up with six weeks rent as a deposit, plus a month's rent in advance for any new property we find.. but at the moment don't have this to hand! This is likely to be about £1500.. £1000 of which we will get back from our current flat deposit. However we won't get this until after we'll have moved into the new place. We've got the other £500.
Basically- we need to find the money upfront which we can then pay back in a few weeks time when our deposit is returned. Can't ask family to lend us the money, and the only other thing we can think of at the moment other than NOT moving is having a look into credit cards that we can get cash with to pay the landlord his deposit. After having a quick Google search it seems cards with super balance transfers may be a possibility but stuck for other ideas! If it was a bigger amount we needed, we wouldn't consider it.. but it will be able to be paid back fairly quickly and all in one go! Is this a terrible idea?
If anyone has any experience of these it'd be much appreciated.. or any other suggestions welcome.
Thanks in advance!

Getting a card like MBNA/virgin which will allow transfer to a current account could work but being successful in the application process will depends on your credit history. To get one of those cards you will need to show a strong history of managing several credit cards. The other option would be to ask your bank for an temporary increase in your overdraft facility....the other final option as last resort would be some sort of short term loan but interest will be high even if paid back within a month0
