Kingfisher airlines refund problems

I am having a few problems trying to get my money back for a cancelled flight from the travel agent
I booked a flight to Thailand early February (to fly in April) for £505 through the travel agency 'cheapest2' who are IATA covered with Kingfisher airlines.
However on March 3rd Kingfisher was suspended from IATA, Kingfisher airlines cancelled all International flights soon after. (travel agency didn't inform me the flights were cancelled, I had to tell them basically)
The travel agency assured me I would get my refund within a month. Not straight away as they had to wait for Kingfisher to refund them the money.
The travel agency still hasn't refunded me the money (16th May) and has given me several dates saying they will have the money but when it comes to the day they claim that kingfisher still hasn't refunded them.
The thing is the travel agency claims they can't refund me themselves as Kingfisher is suspended from IATA, is this true or an excuse to delay my refund? I booked my ticket at a time when Kingfisher was a member of IATA so why am I no longer covered?
This was has been a stressful first holiday experience. Can anyone give me advice on how to move forward with this situation and hopefully get my money refunded?
Thanks, long time reader, first time poster

Getting money out of Kingfisher, that would be a long wait.

You are out of time to do a chargeback - did you have travel insurance?
If so try that - if not you will have to claim through IATA - THAT COULD TAKE A VERY LONG TIME THOUGH10 -
Chargeback is 120 days? so I would have a few days left right?
How do I claim through IATA?
I purchased travel insurance, but after my flight was cancelled, could that cover anything?0 -
Best of Luck, I have to say the warnings have been on this forum since last autumn, and on here long before http://www.pprune.org0
