Sorry, based on that wording I wouldn't expect them to add the valuables and personal possessions limits together for you. Still looks like settlement will be £3.5k max for your jewellery.

the more I think of this, the more I think I have been mis-sold this product.

I want to know where they got the £3.5K limit. and if in the verbal conversation they did say this then why was it not explained what valuables ment.

As I try and make some sense, I think I must have been thinking of items likes laptops, TV,s and thought their was another section called "high risk" for gold etc.

They should have explained the term valuables and then had a duty of care to point out it is a low limit.

I am accepting my faults in all this as I should have read the policy wording, schedule at the time but still feel that there was a lack of duty from the broker and they advise I put down £3.5k as the limit on the quote form which is wrong!

I think this will go to the FOS but thanks to all who have tried helping.

Positives:-

a) House is more secure
b) I have learnt valuable lessons to read documents in full

Negatives:-

a) Lost all my family gold which was accumulated over the years!
