My consumer rights please in this situation

Last week I purchased using my debit card some pet food. The site clearly showed that the bags are 1.5kg in weight and are sold in 4s only. This was also made clear as it showed the weight as 6kg
I decided to stock up so odered 10 lots expecting 40 bags however I have only had 10.
I phoned them explaining t them and the lady on the phone agreed it was a simple picking error and raised and asked someone to phone me back
Nobody did so I put my complaint recorded delivery to them. They have today told me that the price on the website is per bag and not per 4 bags so they would not be sending the rest.
I bought the food in smaller bags as it was better value quite simply. The website still shows them as being sold in 4s only so an order of 10 would give me 40 bags for my money.
This makes the 10 bags ive got very over priced and id like to return them. I have been given this option but at my cost
The recorded delivery cost me £1.50p on according to my phone bill ive spent £6 in calls to them.
Can anyone please advise what if nay rights I have please. I do realise that a shop doesnt have to sell at that price if it is an error but ive already got what I see as 1/4 of my order.

They made a mistake, and they are offering to put you back in the position you would have been if you had not ordered in the first place. Ask them to refund your return costs, and buy elsewhere.

If the description does say 4 bags per pack, then they would be liable for return postage costs.

I agree with the above poster, perhaps a look at the product on their website will help us clear it up if you can provide it :)

But surely that would only count if they realised their mistake before sending out the goods, the contract was formed when OP paid and they accepted the amount and sent the goods so they haven't fully completed their part of the contract. Now that there is a contract in place they should deliver what OP paid for which is an additional 30 bags of food. The fact that they haven't yet updated their page shows that they are not even trying to prevent this happening again.

OP make sure you take screen shots showing the the full description and the date.

Also a link to the item for us to look into would be helpful.

ok folkes an update. Since I last typed theyve changed it on the website to show the price but for just 1.5kg. I have however got a print out of it clearly showing the old price.
They are not offering to pay for the phone calls, postage or return courier costs. Im not wanting to keep the food at this price as I could go and buy it much much cheaper elsewhere

No, a contract can be rescinded for mistake after it has been formed. ;)

As long as they put the consumer in the same position as if the contract had never been formed in the first place. This includes reimbursing reasonable returns costs (and original sales price and postage) - and I'd also argue it should include any reasonable expenses incurred by the consumer in trying to rectify the seller's mistake.
