discretionary housing payment question

Hello all
Sadly I was made redundant four weeks ago. We have been awarded discretionary housing payment to help cover our rent while I look for work.
Does anyone know how long it lasts for?

    It can last for as long as it's necessary - but it will be subject to regular review OR it might be awarded for a fixed period i.e. 3 months, 6 months after which you would have to re-apply.

    Thanks for that advice. Ive looked online but I cant find anywhere that explains about the process etc.

    If you were not claiming LHA for the 52 weeks prior to this claim, you should also have got your full rent covered for the first 13 weeks.
