Listings now all an hour later !!!!

Great I put my listings on for 10 days normally to finish between 10 -11 at night. Now the clocks have gone forward and all my listings have moved forward too ! I thought ebay would have had them finishing at 11 pm as I had originally put for them to finish but now they are finishing at 12 pm. Brilliant now all my listings are mucked up.
Not the only one as some items I am watching have now moved to stupid times !!

It's because ebay work by US Eastern Standard time(?) and not by UK time, the US haven't changed their clocks so we are now all adrift.

I buy quite a bit from foreign sellers and it is easy.

Firstly make sure that you have a confirmed post and packing charge, the US post system is complicated and they rarely list all the p and p details so you will need to ask in advance and give them plenty of time to respond.

Secondly, the only real way of paying cheaply is to use paypal so make sure they accept it. When you do win you just click on pay by paypal on the invoice and pay in dollars and paypal take the sterling equivalent from your account, it is easy.

Avoid expensive items unless you are happy to pay additional expenses for import duty and VAT and all sorts of things.

I think that is about it, happy shopping!

It does keep you on your toes doesn't it!

Yes, as soon as the part of the US where ebay are based changes their clocks then we will be adrift an hour again.

Thanks Soo. :) I only just realised there was a reply :o

You've answered the bit that usually stops me from buying from the US (although I think what I buy might be cheaper) and that's about the p+p.

I did mail one seller but got no reply lol. Then I mailed a company but the p+p seemed about the same price as the item I wanted.

Good to see paypal works out the price in sterling too. By the time I've found a conversion chart the auctions are usually over :D

I just need to remember to mail and ask for the p+p and in plenty of time. I won't worry about tax etc too much - they're not overly expensive things. I'm still staying small lol.

    Thanks again.

    [Edited to make sense]
  • Is it just my computer, or has Martin failed to update the clock settings on the site? The "Last Post" column is showing -1 hour.

I keep an eye on the final price so i don't risk import duty/VAT. Only ever ordered one item from the US. Most of my items are from HK.
