Yellow Box Parking Fine.. Help

justmy
Hi all,
Ive just recieved a parking fine for 'granted' parking in a yellow box. Now if i was being an ar*e.. (a bit like the traffic warden) i would say that this 'yellow box' has faded and its not exactly the brightest yellow lines you'll ever come across.
I was literally there for around 7 minutes..
And I came back to find it there. Now my complaints are that.. theres no signs what-so-ever stating i cannot park there.. not before i enter the bay nor right in front or on a wall close by etc. Absolutely nothing.
Now i've heard alot of people saying they just ignore this company but i dont particularly want a massive fine. Which could be up to £100 and more if court is taken into account. But should i appeal? Leave it / ignore it? As personally I dont think I was doing anything wrong when i was there for less than 10 minutes but i dont want to appeal if it brings it to their attention sort of thing when they weren't going to do anything anyway?
Thanks in advance for the help guys!!

Yellow box, red box, green box, white box, it doesnt matter what colour the box was as it was on private land, and therefore the charge is irrelavant, an it should eb ignored.
Was this car park attached to a retail park/shopping area, or any other buisness? From the Plain Language Commission:

Ignore it.0

Yellow box private land = Graffiti
However if you understand what they are for it's best not park in em for any amount of time!0 -
Thanks for your help guys, the car park has got like a nandos, cinema, bowling place, pizza hut.. that sorta place.
The thing that gets me, there are no signs what so ever saying not to park there. And i dont think its that clear cut that everyone should know not to park in a yellow box.. and the fact it was so late on, its not like its early morning where its a loading time.
So do you all suggest i just ignore it then.. can they actually not do anything.. Or would it be better to appeal? Then just not pay after stating my claims. As i think im in a good position really0 -
I suggest the op edits his post and refer to all in the third party, the driver did this/that etc.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Good point!
Don't want to encourage Pete do we?0 -
Just ignore it all, justmy, all you will get if you appeal is a standard rejection and the fact that the company will know who you are.
Now, if you are still about, edit out all the details of what happened, time date place, event. Not relevant so far as we are concerned.0
