Getting Divorce

Hi, don't know if anyone can help or advise me.
I have been separated from my husband now for 4.5 years, although still legally married. I bought my house (with a mortgage) before I met him and I never added his name to the deeds and I had always paid the mortgage and bills and his money when he moved in with me and when we got married continued to pay for luxeries e.g. household items, holidays, evenings out etc
How much does a divorce cost? Is he entitled to claim half of what I own if I divorce him? We have two children age 8 and 4. He comes to the house most Saturdays to spend with the children. We get along fine, for the children's sake, but I really do feel its time to break all ties with him even though we remain friends as such, civil etc. He sometimes doesn't turn up on a Saturday without letting me know. He was made homeless, now got a bedsit but won't give me the address.
Can anyone tell me what I am able to do. How much it will cost, as I am on very limited money, considering I am paying mortgage, bills and kids etc all on my salary. He does not contribute to any childcare maintenance.
Thank you. Look forward to hearing some advice from you.

I think you need some advice from a solicitor especially as you don't know where your OH lives and especially as he isnt paying child maintenance.
I have done my own divorce (all very amicable) and my name was never on the deeds of our house. I printed the forms off the https://www.direct.gov.uk website and submitted them to my local court. Normally there is a fee but as I am on income-based JSA the divorce hasnt cost me anything other than a few stamps when I have had to re-send things after I had accidently omitted details (not understanding the form which was too flowery with legalese). I think it costs around £145 but you will need the address of your husband as it makes life very difficult if the court cannot send him any papers.0 -
Read up on TOLATA.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

write down a series of questions you want the answers to, in a concise and logical way
Go to local CAB, they should refer you to a local family solicitor who gives the first half-hour free, get answers to questions. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
