I know the specs are pretty rubbish but i only paid £50 for it as the person who sold it decided it was not for them and went and bought an iPad.
It has Win 7 starter as OS, Can i use decrapifier on it to get rid of all the pre loaded stuff and what would be the best AV to use.
Only need it to take notes, surf and e-mail and will probably pass on to Grandson for his birthday.

I'd be inclined to do a factory reset, run Windows Update to get the OS up to date then Add/Remove Programs to get rid of the surplus crap.
For AV I'd recommend Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast. How do I add a signature?0 -
As it only has the starter version, would you gain anything by having it dual boot with Ubuntu, maybe with WINE ?0
-
If i was keeping it i would bung some more RAM in it and dump Windows completely, might even go to cloud.
As i'm passing it on i don't want to confuse the Grandson.0 -
W7 starter's fine for a dinky netbook..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
