sealed bids

Hi there

I am looking at buying a property with a friend. It has been repossesed and is being sold through the administrator. We do not need a mortgage. There is a sealed bid process and our concern is - if we win the bid, is it subject to a survey? the place is a right mess but that is what we are after. However, we don't want anything too drastically wrong with the place.
Also, is there any particular way in which we should word a bid?

Many thanks

as its not an auction, if you win the bid, you have not exchanged, its just like any other sale. it will be STS, if you are having one. word the bid that you are cash buyers and can exchange quickly and have your solicitor waiting.

    thanks for your reply.

Does this mean that the vendor HAS to make access available for the survey? This is the first time we've done this and the agent is not very friendly - He only seems intersted when you talk money!

yes, the agent should give reasonable access for you to complete the deal, thats what the vendor is paying them for. if you have any problems with agent, get on to the vendor asap!
