I work in Castlereagh Hills GC. When it opened in July 2005 the dress code was a bit lax. Now there is a strict dress code. Golfers must adhere to standard ??? (can't remember) rules. No football tops, no shorts, proper shoes etc. There is a big board with the dress code on it just as you go through the door.
One added benefit of membership is you get a reduced membership at all the council fitness centres.[/QUOTE]
Hope they make people stick to the dress code. I played there last year and there were guys who were topless-not a pretty sight!! Also the course was not in great condition which was a bit worrying for a new course.0 -
Leftie, I'll find out prices for you on Monday.
"Hope they make people stick to the dress code. I played there last year and there were guys who were topless-not a pretty sight!!" Totally agree, we had one pair come into the restaurant and had to ask them to put shirts on. They ended up sitting on the balcony in vests and shorts. Strangely they never came back.0 -
Leftie have pm'd the details to you.0

There's a club called Silverwood near Lurgan which is a parkland 18 hole course - it's more of a golf centre than a club - and it's £390 a year. It's supposed to be reasonably good. It's not Belfast I know but if you are close to the motorway it's 15 - 20 mins.
You can also pay per game in Silverwood, without paying any membership fee, so decide whether you like it before committing yourself. Its 25 miles from Belfast, so 25 mins (as long as it's not rush hour.)0
