Does a ticket to a venue in the Olympic park give full park access

Options
If I buy a ticket for an event, for example waterpolo, which is held at a venue in the Olympic park, does this give me access to the whole park so I can mooch about all day looking at stuff and soaking up the atmosphere or are there dedicated entrances that only give access to the venues for which you have tickets ? I know that tomorrow there will be 'Olympic park access' but wonder if a regular ticket gives the same access plus the event to which you are viewing ???

I see on the map that here are some 'dedicated paths' to venues but hope they aren't fenced in so you can't get anywhere else in the park ?

Any ideas ?

    Hi Nicka,

Your ticket gives you the same access as the Olympic Park access tickets. There is a huge barrier around Olympic Park and only ticket holders will be able to enter, as you have a ticket for that day you will have access to Olympic Park for the day. There will also be TV screens around the park so you can watch other sports or go up the tower or just have a break at the concession stand.

Have a great games day :T

Does anyone physically have their tickets at home yet?

When are they meant to be getting sent out?

Nicka - You've chosen a great day to be in the park - stick around and watch the big screens - Jess Ennis may get her gold in the evening

Someone will need to be there to sign for your tickets. If nobody is there, Royal Mail will leave a 'Something for you’ card. You will also be notified of the delivery attempt by email and/or SMS. Your ticket package will be returned to your local Royal Mail delivery office and held securely for 18 days.
You can visit the office to collect your package, or contact Royal Mail to arrange a redelivery to the same address. In the event you don’t collect your package, Royal Mail will send you a reminder notification by email and/or SMS before it is returned to London 2012.

At least they haven't trusted the tickets to a secure courier, like DX.

My mum's tickets arrived today. She had a text yesterday from Royal Mail to say they would be coming and would need to be signed for. Her postman came and went - no tickets. I said they probably didn't trust the postmen with them and that they'd have a special van for them. She didn't believe me but I was right. :D Guy turned up later in a van and his sole job was delivering Olympics tickets.

She then got a text AND an email to say they'd been delivered. Seemed slightly OTT but I can imagine the complaints if they'd gone missing.
