Amazon Marketplace - Buyer not received item

Hi, just looking for a bit of advice really. I sold a Blu-ray on Amazon Marketplace and posted it on 30th April. Today I got a message from the buyer saying 'Could I please post this or refund so they can buy from elsewhere'... I messaged them back and then issued a refund (no idea why they didn't contact me sooner though - 16 days passed).
Anyway, I'm rambling now. I just wanted to know how the claims procedure goes with Royal Mail. I've got my proof of postage but I'm wondering what to submit as 'original proof of value'.
I originally bought it off eBay so I've also got the PayPal transaction from that (it sold on Amazon for about the same price I bought it for on eBay (£9).
Will that evidence suffice?
Thanks in advance.

Although a DVD should fit through a letter box, it it didn't then it's possibly been returned to the buyer's local delivery office and could then take weeks to be returned. You could firstly ring and see if it's there.
If you dowload a claims form from the Royal Mail site that should answer the issue of the value http://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/P58-Inland-final%20april%2012_0.pdf0 -
I think a buyer is very patient to wait 16 days - if they had contacted you sooner it would be a bit early to tell whether or not the item was late arriving - think about it logically for a moment.
I normally give a week for items to arrive, then politely message the seller about it - then after two or three weeks no-show and no co-operation from the seller I would normally go to a dispute.
But 16 days is reasonable for a buyer to wait if they e.g. forget about having bought something or don't need it in a hurry.
Amazon have their own procedures for items not received - you'll have to refund at some stage if it doesn't show up. They can be a lot stricter than eBay but the fact that someone waited over two weeks is good rather than bad."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Yea, it was a single blu-ray so would've fit through a letterbox. I picked up a claim form though, the lady at the post office walked me through what to do, which was nice. She told me to photocopy my proof of postage and send the original to Royal Mail along with the amazon invoice. Just gotta wait a couple of days before I can send it off though.
Crowqueen - I already issued a refund as soon as they messaged me. Not disputing that just wanted to know the Royal Mail claims procedure.0
