Both vehicles were joining the dual carrageway at the same time, it is going to be a split situation as both had duties of care. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Hello!
A lot has happened since I have been at work - thank you everyone for your thoughts and advice on this.
lisyloo - I think I kind of knew this - but was just hoping that it wouldn't be the case. I realise it's small fry to them and not worth the hassle.
My daughter can't ring her insurance company until Monday so we won't know until then what they say. She had another letter from Helphire today - exactly the same as the last one - just dated five days later.
Astaroth - I didn't realise that about them both joining the dual carriageway - I thought as she was turning left from her road that she would have the right of way? From what you are saying that is not the case, which of course may change things totally. The other parties argument was that she didn't turn into the first lane which was a bus lane and rather the second which is where he turned.
As you all say - there's is nothing to be done - other than let the insurance company deal with it as they see fit. I just feel she is being taken for a ride on this one and I'm angry for her.
I'll let you know what they say.
Thank everyone again, really appreciate your taking the time to reply.0
