  • Another thought... if I'd been paying monthly rather than annually, I could have just stopped the payments. But then they would cancel the policy - would that mean I'd be penalised with the clause thy ask when you re-insure "Have you ever been refused insurance or had insurance cancelled?" I think it would - they would have all the loopholes covered, probably.

    It's a different story at renewal when you can move elsewhere without penalty if the offered renewal price is silly.

    New customer discounts play a big part in pricing on the internet though.
