"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100

Regarding the saving, I wasn't privvy to the conversation regarding the switch over so do not know the ins and outs. My OH was just told that the monthly DD would be about £10 a month less thus creating a saving for us.
As stated above you have no idea if the new DD of £82 a month with E.ON will cover your annual consumption.
If you now ring another company, say BG, and tell them you are paying £82 to E.On it is a fair bet they will come in with a lower monthly DD, say £72.
Now call, say, EDF and tell them you are paying £72 to BG you will probably get quoted a monthly DD of, say, £62.
Saving money is easy ain't it? - or is there a catch I wonder?
Could it possibly be the staff in the company call centres are on commission for getting new customers signed up? Surely that wouldn't influence their actions!!0 -
OK, lesson learnt....
Not switching again, coughing up for this bill, advising the OH NOT to change things over until we have discussed it and contacted the Landlord regarding the boiler....
Sorry I ranted, this came out of left field and as I am starting a new regime to clear ALL of our debts, to have a £400 bill arrive on the mat a day after I have set a 2 year plan to clear everything has been a bit of a shock.Key - Balance/Remaining - Total £15073.21/£8283.11
