Restaurants in the Midalnds for a special occasion?

Hi all,

It's my partner's birthday in August and I want to find a nice restaurant in the Leicester/Birmingham/Nottingham area to go to?

We like Maiyango and The Case in Leicester and Cote Brasserie in Birmingham so something similar to those in quality and price but somewhere new.

Although anywhere in the Midlands is great Leicester restaurants would be ideal!

I've heard good things about the Boot Room in Leicester. Ascoughs in Harborough is excellent and good value. Hambleton Hall is superb.

I went to a great place the other week in Birmingham, near the fort Dunlop retail park.

It is called Duet. It is run by Indians, but does indian as well as Italian food.

I didn't think that would work, but the Italian food was the best I have ever tasted. Not into Indian food myself, but everyone else said the food was fantastic.
