Hi
We are going to filey this friday until monday, looks like the weather is ging to be pretty poor, just wondered if anyone has any ideas of things to do with the kids? We are staying at Primrose Valley so I guess there should be some activities on site too?
Many thanks

Hello,
Having just got back from Filey, today after being there a week - here some advice: There is a huge Tesco to do all your shopping right by the bus station really good but then you've got a brilliant butcher on the high street right opposite Spar.
Make sure you go up to the Country Park in Filey, its a lovely view and you can see alot of wildlife there is two minigolf courses in Filey, one right on the beach [only open on weekends] and one open on West Street, [only open on weekends] the one on west street is much better,
If you want a day out to Scarborough a new bus has just launched the Filey Flyer 555, it leaves at 09:50, 10:50, 11:50 and returns at the 30, it is the cheapest bus to Scarborough only costing £4 adult return, instead of £12 adult return with EYMS.
If you need anymore advice please ask
Also restaurants - there is a Italian on the high street if you go between 5pm and 6pm you won't pay more than £5 for a meal!!

Lets be honest, there is not much to do in Filey except enjoy the facilities on the site and have lots of long walks on the beach.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

are you travelling by car? scarborough and bridlington are a nice day out, or whitby if you want to go a bit further x there is the flamingoland theme park near there too.0

Hello Emily, please dont waste any of your precious time going to Filey, there is absolutely nothing their for children, not much more for grown up.
To be honest, there is so much to do at Primrose Valley your whole weekend will probably be taken up doing things there.
If youve time, I'd go into either Scarborough or Whitby.
Dont know what is on at the Futurist (Theatre on the seafront) but they do have a website.
Enjoy..............make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
We love Filey and so do the kids but there isnt a huge amount to do there if its wet. If you get chance park at the Country Park as someone else suggested, fab play areas, loads of space to run about and beach access. You can park there, walk into town by heading back out the way you drove in then walk back along the beach via the Coble Landing.
Dont know how old the kids are but Scarborough is worth a visit. The Park and Ride is cheap and you can get off in town, walk down to the sea front and catch the bus back. There is also the Rotunda Museum which is worth a look.
I was thinking of things like the indoor play barn in Scarborough (Little Hoppers) but if you are only there for a weekend you will probably be fine staying on site. There are other wet day attractions within driving distance like the North York Moors Railway but it depends on your budget and how much driving about you want to do.0 -

Hi is this minigolf like crazy golf? or a mini pitch and putt golfcourse on grass?
just asking as were going in a few months time.
Hello Mike,
The one on the Front of the Beach is a few holes [8], Which is not very good, Kids go run up them, and mess it up but the other one is really good! its located in Filey Golf Club itself, But the pitch and Putt one is on grass! at the Golf Club.
