Hello, I dont know if this is the right place but hoping someone can help. It was my birthday and my boyfriend asked me what i wanted, I had found a ring earlier on amazon and he bought me it. I was under the impression It was by a company called revoni and that it was rrp £149.99 down to £49.99 that it was a natural topaz. It arrived today and i loved it iput it straight on and took the little peice of paper of that voids refunds, Which there wasnt a problem it fitted and i loved it. It was only about 40 minutes agoi noticed a name on the box, Quick search i google and to my suprise there was my ring for $29 rrp $99. Now i can understand making a profit but can this be right, Have i been done over? i checked the currency converter and it works out at £18.75 i cant help but think i have a cheap ring that i thought was worth more than it is? Any advice would be greatly appreciated:o
it might not be much, but its better than a kick in the teeth:rotfl:

Any remedy will depend on how it was described, you have no recourse just because you overpaid. If you love the ring and would have been happy if you hadn't found out it was cheaper elsewhere then that is just buyer recourse and you are stuck with it unless you are in time for a change of mind return
However if you have bought a ring that is meant to be one brand and is actually another then the first thing to do would be to talk to your seller. However looking at the brand Revoni (assuming that is a brand- and I'm no good with jewellery brands) it does appear to be one sold really only on Amazon and at the lower end of the market.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Out of interest I looked at Revoni rings on eBay and they're sold there as well but very few actually get bought. Most seem to be only sterling silver and with Quite cheap gem stones.
Very pretty indeed but not quality items and probably overpriced, for sterling silver you could probably pick up similar at a lower cost n the high street.
Oddly enough though despite my earlier post Amazon will allow a return purely due to change of mind, check out the requirements in the buyer help system. You will almost certainly need to return it fully tracked and insured at your own cost.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It's a criminal offence to quote an inaccurate RRP but I think you'd need to find the RRP for the UK market as this may differ from the US market.took the little peice of paper of that voids refunds
The seller can not limit your rights to cancel under the DSR regs, unless the seller complies with the following:
(1) Subject to paragraph (4), in good time prior to the conclusion of the contract the supplier shall— (a)provide to the consumer the following information—
(i)the identity of the supplier and, where the contract requires payment in advance, the supplier’s address;
(ii)a description of the main characteristics of the goods or services;
(iii)the price of the goods or services including all taxes;
(iv)delivery costs where appropriate;
(v)the arrangements for payment, delivery or performance;
(vi)the existence of a right of cancellation except in the cases referred to in regulation 13;
(vii)the cost of using the means of distance communication where it is calculated other than at the basic rate;
(viii)the period for which the offer or the price remains valid; and
(ix)where appropriate, the minimum duration of the contract, in the case of contracts for the supply of goods or services to be performed permanently or recurrently;
(b)inform the consumer if he proposes, in the event of the goods or services ordered by the consumer being unavailable, to provide substitute goods or services (as the case may be) of equivalent quality and price; and
(c)inform the consumer that the cost of returning any such substitute goods to the supplier in the event of cancellation by the consumer would be met by the supplier.
(2) The supplier shall ensure that the information required by paragraph (1) is provided in a clear and comprehensible manner appropriate to the means of distance communication used, with due regard in particular to the principles of good faith in commercial transactions and the principles governing the protection of those who are unable to give their consent such as minors.
and
(1) Subject to regulation 9, the supplier shall provide to the consumer in writing, or in another durable medium which is available and accessible to the consumer, the information referred to in paragraph (2), either—
(a)prior to the conclusion of the contract, or
(b)thereafter, in good time and in any event—
(i)during the performance of the contract, in the case of services; and
(ii)at the latest at the time of delivery where goods not for delivery to third parties are concerned.
(2) The information required to be provided by paragraph (1) is—
(a)the information set out in paragraphs (i) to (vi) of Regulation 7(1)(a);
(b)information about the conditions and procedures for exercising the right to cancel under regulation 10, including—
(i)where a term of the contract requires (or the supplier intends that it will require) that the consumer shall return the goods to the supplier in the event of cancellation, notification of that requirement; and
(ii)information as to whether the consumer or the supplier would be responsible under these Regulations for the cost of returning any goods to the supplier, or the cost of his recovering them, if the consumer cancels the contract under regulation 10;
(c)the geographical address of the place of business of the supplier to which the consumer may address any complaints;
(d)information about any after-sales services and guarantees; and
(e)the conditions for exercising any contractual right to cancel the contract, where the contract is of an unspecified duration or a duration exceeding one year.
then you have 3 months and 7 working days from receipt to cancel and only have to make the goods available for collection at the seller's cost. The part the majority of retailers fail to adhere to is providing their address and full details on the right to cancel via durable means (email, fax, hard copy with the goods).
Worth a call to Amazon, don't bother with the Philippines and if the guys in the UK/Dublin don't understand the complaint ask for a supervisor.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
Just to add a lot of the rings on Amazon seem to be sold by Revoni themselves, if it was with them (the seller ID will be on the order page in your Amazon account) worth a call to them 020 8800 5110 to say you'd like to cancel under the Distance Selling Regs, if you did want to change your mind.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

I had a look at the Revoni website out of interest - I don't know about their jewellery, but their website still needs a bit of work ...
