CA claim eligibility check?

Mum gets HRM and HRC, Dad has now been laid off. Can he now claim CA for her, with no loss to her as she gets Severe Disability Premium, not Enhanced so, from what I can see, that'll be OK?
BTW, Dad turned 60 last month if that makes a difference?
And does he have to wait 3 months after finishing work to claim, as he's been given 3 months full pay to get rid of him!
TIA

she would lose the sdp0

Do they live together? If they are not living together she would loose SDP. I am only asking because sometimes people mix up SDA (severe disability allowance) and SDP.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0

Yes they do live together, and I thought it was only if she had the enhanced disability premium?
Also does he have to wait 3 months as he's got the 3 months hand-out from work?0 -
yes if shes been paid more than £100 per week for 3 months she will have to wait 3 months, but iirc she can put the claim in before the 3 months are up0

I'm unsure then as I believe couples have to both be getting some form of qualifying disability benefit if they lived together for SDP to be paid in the first place?
She perhaps should be getting enhanced disability premium I think anyway. The SDA I mention is a completely different benefit but is often confused with SDP. SDA is not a premium it is an old benefit (I am on it myself) http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/Disabledpeople/DG_10018894
Here are the rules for severe disability premium so not sure why she currently receives it unless its to do with age (possible?) or your dad also gets AA or DLA.
Couples (higher rate)
If you have a partner, you may get the higher rate premium. You may get this if no one else lives with you, no one gets Carer's Allowance for looking after you and either:
you both get the middle or highest rate of the care component of Disability Living Allowance
you get the middle or highest rate of the care component of Disability Living Allowance and your partner gets Attendance Allowance
Couples (lower rate)
If you have a partner, you may get the lower rate premium if no one else lives with you and either:
you both get the middle or highest rate of the care component of Disability Living Allowance, and Carer's Allowance is paid for only one of you; or
you get the middle or highest rate of the care component of Disability Living Allowance and your partner gets Attendance Allowance, and Carer's Allowance is paid for only one of you; or
you get the middle or highest rate of Disability Living Allowance care component and your partner is registered blind, and no one gets Carer's Allowance!for looking after you.
