Not sure where to put this but here goes. We have two very accs in this house. One for me , one for hubby. We literally use when we get sent a voucher, pay off immediately rinse and repeat. It's not a voucher issue.
Well we both placed orders last month. I paid my bill on the 4th may. I had confirmation and it's showing as paid and credited to my account. They still have not taken the money so the shadow has dropped off the bank. I've phoned the bank twice since who said the auth is still good, they just haven't claimed the money. I phoned very twice who said the same. I phoned them again today. They checked with payments, who said all was good their end, sometimes they bulk process payments. Ok, no prob.
Hubby just got home, same bank. He paid his Friday and it's been debited from his account. So what's going on? Anyone had this. As I am pretty bothered about it. As if they have made a mistake, a black mark on my cf is a no-no due to jobs.

I must lead a sheltered existence, I've never heard of 'very'.
So I googled it - !!!!!! !!!!!!!
"Our Representative APR and interest rate is 39.7% variable."
I really must ask OP, are you stark raving bonkers?
BTW if you pay a bill it's debited to your account; credited is when you pay money in...
what's this voucher bit, and what is a 'shadow' on your account?
(retreats, thinking I shouldn't have replied to this, but like to learn!)The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
Authorisation is not strictly a necessary step in the process of taking money from cards (surprisingly - though the fees merchants have to pay if they dont is much higher) and so the fact the ring fenced money has been released is not an issue.
As to why they havent take the funds yet? Really only Very can tell you and they most likely wont. You evidently much watch your Very account very closely to ensure they dont hit you with interest or late payment charges due to their delays.0 -
I'll ask them again tomorrow. Very is a littlewoods catalogue. I think the first poster, you are under the impression we use it to buy everyday stuff?
Not so, leave it dormant. Get a nice 20% off voucher to encourage us back. Pay off with no interest.0 -
I've had a similar situation when buying car spares, order placed with payment, parts delivered and I've fitted them to the car but payment has not been debited from my account. I spoke to one supplier who said that they do batch runs roughly every 2 weeks so it can be sometime before the actual payment is taken.0

My late MIL used the same approach with her Littlewoods Catalogue account.tinkerbell28 wrote: »I'll ask them again tomorrow. Very is a littlewoods catalogue. I think the first poster, you are under the impression we use it to buy everyday stuff?

Once she passed a 10% off voucher for a first order to my wife who "ordered" 3 leather skirts and 3 leather trousers (she couldn't make up her mind what she really wanted) so the order was for around £600. She returned 5 of the items and when she got the invoice for payment they had deducted 10% of the order, credited the returned items so she actually paid £60 for a £120 leather skirt.
Not heard of them before so I looked at their site but they've learnt from their past mistakes as their terms for the 10% discount now include "Returned goods, financial services products and delivery charges will not count towards the value of the order "
We did a similar thing with a couple of mailshots for credit cards; e.g. open an account and we'll give you £30 credit - open an account, spend £35 - pay £5 - cut up the card!0 -
