Chances of success / Advice Pls ?

I made a complaint for mis-sold mortgage repayments insurance to the Halifax which they aknowledged on their system 2nd April. We originally declined the insurance when we took out our mortgage in 2001 but was told that in order to complete our application it was compulsory and we basically were not allowed out of the mortgage advisors office until we accepted it. We was not once informed that we could purchase it elsewhere. We also tried to make a claim when my husband came out of work but was told it was ineligble and we couldn't claim. I have been in the same well paid job for 16 years with 6months full/6months half sick pay and also covered by additional insurances. I rang the Halifax today for an update to be told that they are still investigating and they have until the 28th May to respond. Does anyone think we realistically stand a chance in getting out premiums back? I checked my mortgage statement last week and we are still paying insurance even though I requested for it to be cancelled several times previously. Will my claim be affected if I call to cancel it again??

I would not cancel this until you get a response from Halifax.

When you do come to cancel it, if you do it over the phone take a note of date and time and who you spoke to and I would also follow it up in writing by recorded mail.
    Defaultless as of 12th Sept 2012 :)
Listen here default Dave why don't you take your bullsh*t and stick it up your defaulted ar*e and then stick your defaulted credit report and stick it in your defaulted gob.

Will do....I'm hoping I can cancel it by the end of next week as its costing me a fortune and I can't use the damn thing. Tried to claim when my hubby was of sick for a long while but they said we couldn't as he was self employed. I've tried to cancel it before but obviously its not been taken off! I'm so stupid sometimes I didn't even notice:p
Will keep you updated...hopefully with good news!
