When I sell something over £32 and obviously therefore have a special delivery number I usually add it to my paypal page. That way the buyer gets an email giving him the details, which I think can look quite professional.
For items under £32 I have no tracking and it therefore does not apply.

I've recently done this on a couple of large items that I've sold. Any idea what this email from Paypal looks like?
TIA

I got one from a seller via paypal . It is standard paypal generated and itwas quite similar to the layout of the 'funds received' paypal invoices that we sometimes get. It just showed item details, seller name and details and gave the tracking number and service used. It was very basic but I seem to recall it said something like 'thank you for your purchase using paypal' at the end.

Like soolin, I only enter tracking info when I have this due to the value of the item being over £32 and am using a trackable service. Items under this aren't sent using a trackable service usually unless requested by the buyer.
I think, though I could be wrong, paypal increases your verified rating with them each time you do this, though it does take a month for this to show on your paypal account.Do You Twitter?

Never really send anything out that is worth more than £32 so from a personal experience I don't add the tracking number.
However, I can see how it would look quite professional to receive an email stating a tracking number for the buyer - although, you have to weigh this up with the added time of adding the tracking numbers into Paypal.0
