Suggestions for a cheap(ish) holiday in Spain. Any advice appreciated!

Hi there,
Can anyone recommend a cheap but not nasty hotel/resort, all inclusive, in Spain. I want to take my daughter who is 15 (I think that would make her an adult price wise) to Spain. If the price is really reasonable I might be able to afford to take a friend with her. I was hoping .... wait for it ... to spend about 350 - 400 each. Is that even possible? I get so confused on the internet and usually give up in frustration! We would like to go in August. Would it be easier (and cheaper) to book the flights separately?
Thanks to everyone for the usual helpful advice.

Hi hun, i used to be a travel agent so hopefully might be able to help. Firstly in regards to your daughter she should be still classed as a child as long as she doesnt turn 16 before your return flight.
I am looking at a cheapy holiday in august too as we have just come back from disneyland and it literally wiped us out lol. The best i have found so far has been ryanair flights to majorca and then staying at a 3* works out to £674 but that is for 2 adults 2 children and 1 infant on the 20th august for 1 week. (that doesnt include baggage, ryanair give you 10kg of free handluggage so if you can manage with that then even better) so i cant see why, on your budget you couldnt maybe do a nice all inclusive hotel.
Oh and cala bona is a really nice resort in majorca, majorca as a whole is fairly cheap although the euro rate is ridiculously low atm. The beaches are beautiful and very clean, i love palma nova beach however palma nova is close to magaluf so will be rowdy of an evening.
Other than that costa dorada is coming up cheap for flights but the hotel prices are outrageous and tbh im not a fan of salou. HTH0 -
I have this problem my son is 13 but he is classed as an adult, child prices only go up to 12 in a hotel, some holiday villages are 14 and also self catering is usually 14.0

Hmm she is definately an adult for all inclusive purpose to spain as most are 12 max so not sure where mummyjake used to book her clients also the euro is on the slow climb alot better than last year , good luck0

Just to hi jack this thread ........ Ai ??
Big fan of Ai , last three years But as the Euro is heading south !!
And the prices were fixed for the Ai hols months ago , does Ai make sense?
SC or BB would gain because of the fall in the value of the Euro0 -
Have a look at the Best Pueblo Indalo In Mojacar, Almeria. On Aug 30th Thomas Cook can do £1049 for an adult and 2 kids of 15. This is because the child age is 15 there and the prices start dropping at the end of August.
This is all inclusive and from Gatwick. You should be able to pick up Manchester or Birmingham if available for a similar price.
TC operate a teen activity programme here in the summer too.
We were at the Pueblo Indalo last week and found it a great place with good food and plenty of space for people due to it being built a little like a village within a village.
It's worth checking out the same on Direct Holidays as it may even be a little cheaper but it looks like their website is down at the moment.:beer:0 -
I was talking in terms of a flight, a 15 year old is still classed as a child. You are correct most AI hotels do charge adult prices for children but my point was, with that kind of budget, the op would easily get an AI hotel plus flight to majorca in August if she did a DIY booking rather than a package, a lot of sc hotels in majorca class children as under 16 aswell though and obviously sc would be the cheaper option, some of the half board hotels also would class a 16 year old as a child still.
To be completely honest there wouldnt be much in it regardless as to whether the daughter was going as a child or an adult but the op shouldnt have a problem finding something within her budget if i can find a holiday for the 5 of us for under £700!!!0 -

I went to Salou, was a very nice area. I think it only cost £300 each all inclusive last year. I would recommend it!SwagBucks Challenge: 402/849

We booked an appartment in Blanes (just along the coast from Barcelona) a few years ago, cheap flights, self catering, loads to see, easy to get around. I am sure that you could do this sort of thing really cheaply.0
