I've been out of the country for 3+ years driving on my own insurance in the US. Just came back to the UK and my previous NCB here isn't recognized (over 2 years not insured here). Is there anyway I can get the brokers to recognize that I'm a low risk safe driver with over 10 years NCB in both countries?
The quotes I'm getting are for brand new drivers with no NCB. HELP!!!

Many quotes will include an introductory discount which is generally worth a little less than one years NCD.
Your best bet is going to be speaking to insurers or brokers as some will accept international history, though most are more set up to deal with european countries rather than the US0 -

Are you actually dealing with a broker? If so, maybe sack him and try another (not swinton).
Unless there is something untoward you haven't told us, getting an introductory discount should be straightforward.0 -
Thanks for that. How do I know which brokers except overseas history or not? You mentioned some, are they online? Do you have any names please?0

Contact your last insurer, they may honour the last NCDHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

You may be mixing up "broker" and "insurer"??
You probably cannot get any discount online with any insurer.
Contact a local broker to see if they can get you an introductory discount to reflect your driving experience.0 -
When I worked overseas got full Ncd intro on return again...0

I wouldnt tell them the you have been driving in the States for the past 3 yrs, just tell them you had no car. I could be wrong but would they see the fact you have been driving on the right for so long as more of a risk?Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

I would not recommend lying to them if the insurer considers it a material fact.0
