Glow-worm Flexicom 18hx: service or repair?

We've had this boiler for nearly three years now and it was last serviced last summer. The last couple of weeks we've been getting an 'F4' error message almost every other day, which is simply resolved by the reset button - this solution okay for this time of year but worried if it turns into something more serious in the autumn / winter.

I dont have a service contract, but have the British Gas £3/month cover with a £90 call out.

Question is: should I seek a service from Glow Worm - probably about £60/70 but with the risk of having to shell out more if the boiler is damaged OR should I call in British Gas for the extra dough (although they wont do the service)?

Grateful for any advice pls.

A proper service and having the gas valve correctly set may solve this problem.

Can't see why you would be thinking of replacing a 3 year old boiler, even if it is a Glow Worm!

Thanks but I wasnt thinking of replacing it but whether I needed British Gas to come and fix it - or whether having it serviced more cheaply would also solve the problem.

Impossible to say from a keyboard.

If a basic service is all that is needed then for around £80 ish it could be fixed.

If it needed parts, eg a new pcb, then it would be cheaper to get BG in on a fixed price repair.
