Item as described?

Hi,

We bought a high chair on ebay and we have got it only to find the straps are all mouldy. The listing said good condition so we expected the normal dents and scratches for a used item.

Seller said they cleaned and soaked straps so surely they knew it was a bit of a problem?

Any advice? Am I over-reacting?

Thanks!

Do you want to keep it? Can the straps be cleaned?

    Hi, thanks for the response.

This is the high chair type we want but the mould is really ingrained. I can't see how it can come out.

Well, firstly you should let the seller know.....

Dear Seller, thanks very much for the quick delivery of the high chair. I have just gone to use it and unfortunately the straps are mouldy. Looking at them, it is quite ingrained and I doubt I would be able to remove it. It is such a disappointment and had we known it would be in this condition we would not have bid/bought.

Adjust that to suit what outcome you are after. Perhaps if you want some money off, you could say that your bid would have been less had the mould have been described in the listing.

If you don't want the item then you will have to ask if your seller will pay for the return of it.

It really depends of if you want to keep it and want to try for a reduction (ebay or paypal cannot force this) or if you want to send it back.

    What is your preference?

Great thanks, I will go down the rejection route and see if I can get any money back.

Just so you know where you stand. I am assuming this is a private seller.

If the seller does say she won't accept returns and isn't willing to refund. Then you will have to go down the route of a case of SNAD (significantly not as described). You can do this in Ebay or Paypal but you will have to return the item tracked (a courier would be best) and you will have to pay for it to be returned......but you will get your entire original payment back. If you need more help then come back here.
