  • I can't cope Rupert, I have been refreshing the page since 9am this morning and nothing so far. I have been killing time though by starting a petition to get our favourite fretting funster to change his name to "NotSoSingleBloke".
No debts. No credit cards. No store cards. No mortgage. No CCJs. High credit rating intact. Living frugally. Want to start business soon. Trying to keep head above water; while standing on own feet; staying within the law; and not falling into debt. Looking to raise income, who isn't?
  • I went looking for this thread as I haven't been on lately and wondered how Singlebloke got on.
Page 3 Ohhh" I thought, scrolled down to NO UPDATE!

Maybe they have arrested him lol

No you don't. You pay £116 a month to avoid being sent to prison. You bin is emptied because you exist.

Sometimes I wish that the addresses of people who come up with this old chestnut could be recorded, so that if ever they required the emergency services they would get the response "I'm sorry, sir we can't come out to attend to your burning/burgled property, as according to our records you have only paid to have your bin emptied' ;-)

Anybody know where I can get a full sized reproduction of a Sun Insurance fire mark?
These used to be nailed to the front of homes, so that the fire brigade knew which insurance company who would pay them.

Mind you that was in the days when debtors got put in jail and second time thieves would plead to be sent on a 3 month one way cruise - so much preferable to a long drop on a short rope or incarceration on a hulk.
  • What a drama queen! I love this thread.

Please come back and put us out of our misery OP.

Or perhaps the SAS currently have him holed up and are pushing bamboo spikes under his finger nails.
    Thinking critically since 1996....
  • I'm with you somethingcorporate.

This thread has been funny and entertaining.

I cannot believe that Singlebloke has not returned to update us all. We have been most helpful.

Rupert Bear - everytime I read the thread for an update - I start singing Rupert... Rupert the Bear...Everybody say his name lol

    All good fun :j

For heaven's sake don't ring me at CAB tomorrow with this story. We have people who owe thousands of pounds of Council Tax arrears to worry about, with no means of paying.
    Fess up and pay up.

<---- Makes note to telephone newly retired at the CAB tomorrow and discuss in length the apprehension I feel that I sent a letter off last week without a postage stamp on it.
I am waiting for the police to arrive and am typing from my attic, with all the furniture downstairs piled up against any exterior doors.
