Well, your son's credit rating will not affect yours. You're just going to have to ask!Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

....After all this, bet the husband's going to say "ah no maybe better not risk it, better just keep saving" LOL then you can come up and whack him with a newspaper0

You should probably try talking to your own bank first, before going to car finance companies. After all, if he's been careful over the years, they will realise this - they'll also be aware of his income and his ability to repay.0

The bank keep offering us money - but he says the interest rate is higher from the bank? I dont know. Leaving it up to him, that way I cant get blamed for anything LOL (long experience of married life will do that to you...!)0

It is vital to know if these quotes are for a flat rate or APR (annual percentage rate). A flat rate of 10% is around 20% APR.
I would have thought that the bank would quote APR and the finance co a flat rate. The only thing that is constant is change.0 -
Unless dealer has a very special deal, you will almost certainly get a far cheaper loan from your bank."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Many dealers use the "cheap" finance option to shift cars & meet their targets, so a car finance deal may well be cheaper than a bank loan
The final price of the car is of course the critical point. just how much would it cost if you walked in with a holdall stuffed with tenners?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
