Hi All
I have had my own car for the past 12 years and have been paid a car allowance and fuel by my firm who made me redundant 4 weeks ago, but I am just about to start a new job and will be provided with a company car.
The problem is I only took my new car on only 6 weeks ago on finance...at present the car is in my name on the DVLA documents, the finance is in my name (but paid from joint account), the insurance has me as main driver and my wife as named...is it worth transferring the car documents to my wife and also the insurance?
I have called all parties and everyone has so far given different advise

I wouldn't transfer any of the documents, and wouldn't change the insurance policy, apart from putting her as main driver if indeed she will be. Maybe let her take out the policy in her name at renewal though. Then switch insurance between her and yourself every two years to keep your ncd.

No point changing the registered keeper when you're husband and wife. All it'll do is devalue your car by adding one more keeper on the logbook.

It is normal and expected that the main driver of a car owned by a couple will change from time to time. It's only really if your teenager becomes the main driver that insurance companies get funny.

Even then, still no need to change the registered keeper, just change the named driver on the policy.
