Not everyone is as nice!EllaBeagle wrote: »In the past, if a customer hasn't been happy I have refunded them fully AND given them double the postage so they can send it back to me. If I have been unhappy with an item the seller has done this for me too. Why should I accept a partial refund? I have offered to send them back but they don't want them!
Paypal will only force your refund once you have proved you have delivered them back. You will be given a full refund of your original cost and original postage but you will be out of pocket by your return postage. So pretty much in the same financial position as if you had accepted the original cost minus the original postage!
If morals are more important to you then float your boat!! If it was me I would have accepted their offer, left them negative feedback and moved on.0 -
They sound like terrible sellers.
You will no doubt be told to return at your cost to receive a refund of you entire original payment.
Telling someone that you will leave -FB if they don't refund you is FB extortion.
Hopefully when you're told to return the items the seller will tell you not to bother, as they've already said they don't want them back.0 -
Thanks!
Just got a warning from ebay about feedback extortion and read the policy. I wasn't aware of this as just thought that the seller would know I would be leaving bad feedback anyway.
They do seem awful sellers, I have never had this problem before, its the least they can do considering the junk they sent me. The smell and the dog hairs were enough!:j Comping wins: Gig tickets, Lovemydog tag, Country Livings Christmas fair tickets
Freebies: Redken hair product, Cow teddy, Pebble grey illuminated compact mirror.0 -
EllaBeagle wrote: »Hi it was through ebay. How is it extortion? Its inevitable that if the seller is being unfair, has knowingly sent good that are in awful condition and refused to make a full refund that bad feedback is going to be left. I didn't come across as threatening I was stating facts. Its leaving bad feedback, not threatening someone with physical violence?

I am too late now but as you have found out, eBay may consider it feedback extortion.
It's one thing intending to leave feedback but another to indicate your intentions in a situation such as yours. I am neither saying its right or fair, just saying you may have breached policy.
If you do go on to leave any feedback and stars just be aware eBay may scrutinise what you say/leave.0
