NBM lawyer, are they OK?

Hi,

I am looking a solicitor to do Conveyancing and just found a web https://www.nbmlaw.co.uk which is really cheap, only 175£ (include VAT) plus expenses.

Have anyone used them before? Are they reliable?

Many Thanks
Jerry

  • I do believe I bought a flat using them in 1998. I remember at the time telling myself I would never use a remote conveyancing company ever again, and i've not.

they may have changed, or mine might have been a one off, but it wasn't a fast or pleasurable experience.

as I say, this may have no reflection on the service now as it was a long time ago!

I used them to sell in 2003 and they were fine. I would use them again.

Just found out that my old landlord actually used them twice and it went really well. So I decided to give them a try.

There is an excellent "sticky" at the top of this thread by marcus. One of his tips is not to use corporate online conveyancing firms. It is worth a read before making a final decision.
  • Use an indepdent firm and preferebaly a Licensed Conveyancer, they specialise in property, dont do Court or Matrimonial work. With a lot of the larger firms that estate agents recommend you are a number and you never ever see any body face to face - you will speak to someone over the phone or may be in touch via e-mail.

I know which I would prefer - at the end of the day a house purchase is probably the largest purchase you will ever make.
