I Appealed to Parking Eye...

I now have a massive concern...obviously when i got my letter i was so concerned as i just haven't got the money to pay the £60 fine (or £90 after so many days) and i panicked so i emailed an appeal to them to explain what i was doing in the time. It was 4 hour time limit on a free parking car park and i stayed 4 hrs 28mins.

I'm really worried now as i stated on the email exact times and also attached a photo of a ticket i had brought for the cinema to prove i was there.

At the end i put something like "I trust this matter will now be closed and look forward to your confirmation of this".

What should I do...I saved up for this day out with my daughter and now i feel like crying.

nothings changed, if ( and in all probability it will) your appeal fails then the recomended course of action is ignore.

continue as above, if they start sending threats ( see the sticky/letter chains at the top) and you feel that you are being harrased you may be able to take action to stop them from threatening you.
sit back take a read of some of the information on here and Smile :) when you reallise theres nothing to be worried about.

The mistake that you are making, is believing that this FAKE ticket is genuine. As, I am afraid, a lot of people get conned into thinking, by slick presentation and the clever mimicking of bodies which really do have authority- councils/police.

Parking Eye have no authority whatsoever, and that which you have taken to be a "fine" is nothing of the sort. No private person or company has any authority to fine anyone.

It's all cleverly dressed up so that you are given the impression that you MUST pay and there will be consequences if you don't. But this is totally untrue.

I can tell you now what the result of your appeal will be- a standard letter telling you the charge was correctly issued and you must pay it. And to hurry or it will go up.

All of this is part of a set routine, no-one actually takes a blind bit of notice of what you say because the whole procedure has just one objective- to get you to hand over money.

Which they are not entitled to and which you clearly cannot afford.

You would have been better not contacting them, but there is no harm done. All that you have done is to give them the idea that you are taking the scam seriously, but you can now very easily change that.

To get rid of them, all you have to do is NOTHING. Don't write, don't e mail, don't speak to them on the phone. Just ignore them.

I know that goes contrary to perceived wisdom but it works perfectly here. I have done it over 80 times and I can promise you it is the way to go.

You see, despite the bluff and bluster and threats you may get from them in template letters, they have NO MEANS of actually enforcing this charge as it has no actual basis in law. It has the status of a "request" and it is a request you can ignore.

Ignore them and after a few letters you will never hear from them again.

Go back to your first plan of the day out with the daughter. Don't waste your money on scrounging crooks.

Thank you so much guys, you have put my mind at ease.

I'll look forward to ignoring the rest of the letters.

Unfortunately I have paid out to them a couple of years ago when I parked on a supermarket car park. It just so happened I posted this one on a certain social network site and a friend told me to come on here.

    I'm glad I did.

Good. Now repay your friends help by telling all your other friends, so that they won't be taken in by this con.

Your first mistake was that you appealed. This told the PPC that you were taking their nonsense seriously. But not to worry, as the regulars have advised, you can safely ignore them from now on.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Be careful. If they decide to pursue, you will be liable for late payment charges, baliff fees and court costs.

Yes, lawabidingcitizen is not a genuine forum member but a troll posting on behalf of parking companies. Shorty please take no notice as nothing he says is true.

As you would expect from a parking company.
