Nationwide: Transferred bills and then said they can't do it!

Transferred an account to Nationwide. Noticed my SOs and DDs from that account have disappeared and now appear on Nationwides online banking. This was when the 4.25% ISA came out, so about 2 weeks ago (at least).

Now I've just received a letter saying "We attempted to request a list of payments from your previous provider. However, the account number and/or sort code for your existing provider is invalid."

Banks never cease to amaze me!

Yes, they do seem to have had some administrative difficulties recently. After I opened my Flexclusive ISA I sent them a secure message to ask when I would be able to see the account online, they replied a couple of days later to say that system problems meant I wouldn't be able to see it at that time, even though by then I was not only able to see it, I had already transferred money into it.

Another "funny if it wasn't so sad" one!

Last I heard from Nationwide about my own transfer was that they couldn't transfer my direct debit for AMEX, and I'd need to do it myself. When I went to change the DD, using my AMEX online facilities, I found it had already been done.

This one just goes to prove what I keep saying - - all the banks/building societies are perfectly capable of not delivering on their promises / messing their customers about etc etc. If we keep our expectations to the bare minimum, we might get positively surprised.....
