Help - have screwed up my Gmail printing format

I don't know what has happened but when I try to print out a message in gmail, it prints it out in large format and with all the list of folders down the left hand side so most of the message disappears off the right hand side of the page in A4. I suppose I must have hit something by mistake. How do I get it to return to printing left justified (without the list of folders on the left hand side.)

Are you pressing [Ctrl]+[P] or clicking on the little printer to the right of the subject header?

Tried both, When I press control P, I get message printed with the left hand column of folders and the message text falls off right of screen. When I press the printer symbol, I basically get a sort of screen dump with the control bar shown down the right hand side and again, message text running off screen right behind it.
