It's not unpaid parental leave, but it's unpaid Additional Maternity Leave.
Double check your company policy with HR or whatever, but it's probable they are just getting their terminology wrong (my boss continually referred to AML as 'holiday').
Perhaps it's something that your manager is just not used to people taking because it's unpaid so she's just made an assumption.0 -
Don't forget you accrue all your holidays as well
So if you have not taken them before maternity(recomended) they are in for another shock if they think you don't get the holidays.0 -
