Firstly, if the tyre was fitted incorrectly, surely it wouldn't inflate when the fitter was trying to fit it to the rim?
Secondly, if it was fitted incorrectly, surely it would have failed on your drive home from National. Or on your trip to and from the shops.
Personally, I think you've hit a kerb and tried to blame National for the consequential damage. You're lucky to get a new tyre out of them.
I've taken two cars to have the oil and filter changed by National at a very good price. They did the job swiftly, gave my car a vehicle health check with no problems and didn't try to sell my anything more. The staff were professional and courteous too.
Really, we are suppose to believe you decided to defend them out the goodness of your heart?
To be fair it isn't just your company that is bad, all the national chains are useless, and best avoided.0 -
I've found Formula 1 OK at fitting tyres and prices are good too but I always take the wheels off myself and drive them up in my other car; don't want my car jacked up on the sills, the suspension links, or the sump!0

I've had problems with Formula 1 previously damaging my alloys and losing the locking nut covers. That just a personal experience and why I won't go back there.
Problem with chain garages is they are only as good as the member of staff you deal with on the day. Most don't care about repeat business.0 -

Yes true. Tyre changing usually gets delegated to the school dropout with half a brain cell and a GNVQ in media studies. That's why I don't even trust them to jack up the car.0 -

I'm not defending them out of the goodness of my own heart. I'm putting across my own experiences of National Tyres to balance out the negative views. I've been a member on here for a lengthy period of time and have posted on a lot of differing motoring topics. Compare that with the profile of the poster who decided to post a long story having a bash at National. One post and that is the post which has a go at National tyres.
Also, I don't know why you're referring to National tyres as my company? I don't work for them nor do I have any affiliation with them either.0 -

LOL straighttalker..... you bought a tyre fitting firm? :wall:Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0
