The Equifax FREE/£6.99 Scam

I know this has been mentioned in other threads but I thought I would bring this up from my perspective.
I had been a member of Equifax since 2009 and never a paid member. I have only ever logged in with a free account and paid for credit scores - The reason for this is because Equifax had so much wrong information on me they offered me credit scores at a discount rate.
In January 2012 I logged in a purchased a credit score. From then I have only just seen that I have been charged this £6.99 per month for, and I quote:
Credit Management
You are currently subscribing to FREE Equifax Credit Report™ monthly for FREE, this product comes with:
FREE Credit Report
You have access to Credit Reports
£5.95 Credit Score
You have access to Equifax Credit Score™ at the special price of £5.95
I have written to them to complain that:
1) They did not mention logging into my existing account would activate a 30 day trial, and
2) Nowhere in my account does it says I have a £6.99 monthly subscription.
Martin Lewis, this is a real problem and I hope you hear us and fellow customers who have been truly tricked. I am someone who considers themselves quite aware, I read the small print often and never really find myself on the end of a "scam" as such so I'm feeling extremely angry that a company of this reputation would be able to get away with doing something like this.
I'm going to be keeping at it by communicating to them and collating my evidence. I have asked them where in my account it says that I am signed up to a £6.99 monthly account.
I will be taking my complaint further if need be. Hopefully if others do the same we can really sort out this costly problem.

Just to reiterate, I know about this 30 day trial business HOWEVER, I was an existing member from 2009. When I re-logged into my account in January nowhere did it say that I was re-entering a subscription. I had an Experian account which was very eas yto manage and made it clear that you start up a paid subscription when you log in again. Equifax does not do this.
My account does not say anything about a paid subscription, it only says I have to pay for my credit score which costs £5.95, my other reports are FREE.0 -

It is 'true', they never used to have the 30days cut off and then you would be charged automatically after that monthly....
that is why I originally joined Equifax as a 'free' member in early 2011 or end of 2010 can't remember exactly when, actually must have joined before as my profile said member since 2009!
I was NEVER EVER EVER charged anything, all of a sudden today I look at my credit card profile and they took £6.99 at the end of May, which incidentally took me OVER my credit card limit and I was charged an extra £12 on top of that!
I called them and they kept blubbering like robots that I signed up to montly memberships after a 30 day trial...I NEVER EVER, the reason why I first joined was exactly because they would not tie you into a montly subscription fee (unlike Experian who have done for a long time and got fed up of them).
To me it seems they changed their ways or running their business, not tols the old standing members and just started charging! ABSOLUTELY FOUL BEHAVIOUR
I am LIVID as it took me over my credit limit!
I told them where to stick it and to delete all my details from their database as I dont' want to me a victim of fraud under them anymore!:mad:0 -
And martin lewis laughs all the way to the bank with yet another affiliate payout from equifax for your error.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
