Hi ,
I have a 3 door corsa at the moment, and am looking to change this for a 5 door car.
My main criteria is 5 door, decent size boot and low road tax running costs etc?
I'm looking to buy a used car with a budget of up to £3000.
Any advice would be great as I don't know where to start!
Thanks.

Are you looking for something the same size as the Corsa, but with 5 doors, or something bigger (Focus size? MPV size?).0

Just got a Citreon C3 thart fills that spec. 5 door, decent boot, £30 a year tax, 65 mpg, unless you want a car a lot bigger than a corsa, still easy to squeeze into car parks.0

Fiesta - 5 doors, enough boot space for a weekend's worth of camping stuff, £20 a year road tax, good MPG on the diesels.
If you want more space a Focus is bigger and has some nice toys as standard.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -
Honda Civic if you don't fancy a Ford. No offence to Mikey but I wouldn't want to go near something French. Not only seen as unreliable and fiddly to fix but also top of the most common to fail an MOT.
5t.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
Something bigger than a corsa yes but not massive. Can fit 2 children in etc0

You shouldn't base the choice on whether on not a bulbs gone. 25% failed for that, so I wouldn't be too worried.0 -

Ford focus or Honda civic..your budget is a bit nippy..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Mate of my dad has always had Citroen, XM and then C5's to tow a caravan and hasn't had too many issues, only one suspension failure on the XM.
But given this is common reading:
Which? least reliable new cars
1 Land Rover Discovery 3 - 67.8%
2 BMW 3 Series convertible - 73.9%
3 Hyundai Santa Fe - 75.0%
4 Renault M!gane CC - 75.7%
5 Volkswagen Eos - 75.7%
6 Land Rover Range Rover Sport - 75.8%
7 Jaguar S-type - 76.0%
8 Ford Focus CC - 77.2%
9 Citroën C4 Grand Picasso - 77.4%
10 Volvo S80 - 77.6%
10 Ford S-Max - 77.6%
I still wouldn't buy one. Interesting that quite a few are convertibles so roof issues? Or 4x4s (no idea). Still tables for 2010 show what you need to know I think!
Most reliable
1 Honda
2 Subaru
3 Mitsubishi
4 Lexus
5 Toyota
6 Mazda
7 Nissan
8 Skoda
9 Kia
10 MINI
Least reliable
32 Land Rover
31 Alfa Romeo
30 Renault
29 Saab
28 MG
27 Vauxhall
26 Peugeot
25 Audi
24 Rover
23 BMW
Like I said, not being disrespectful but for a reliable family car on a budget, I'm not going French outside warranty.
