You cannot just reclaim premiums on an insurance because you want to. Even if it is PPI. You have to have grounds for complaint about how it was sold. So, what would be your complaint reasons?

Lifestyle Protection is generally accepted at the better alternative to PPI.

You choose the amount of monthly benefit in the event of a claim, and it is paid directly to the claimant every month for onward distribution to creditors (yeah right ;)). It is a stand alone monthly premium policy that can be cancelled at any time. It's closest relative is Income Protection, NOT PPI.

As with anything, there needs to be a good and valid reason for claiming it's been missold, so please don't stoop to the levels of many and just make up a bunch of lies. Also, not having been unfortunate enough to need it so far is not an example of a good reason, otherwise we would all be jumping on the bandwagon and I would be claiming back my last 6 years of pet insurance on the grounds that my dog is still alive!
  • hey, thanks for the replies, i just didnt know that i had it and although it was a long time ago that i got the card dont think i was asked whether or not i wanted at the time as i wouldnt have taken it.
Im not going to do anything about it though, im just sooo glad ive finally got the card paid off and can start saving now!
  • To be fair, I didn't know I had Lifestyle protect with MBNA until I looked into all this 'PPI' stuff, and I can't remember ever being asked if I wanted it.
