buying toiletries on holiday in majorca

we are a fam of 5 going for 2 weeks in summer. Im not sure how much suncream to take and wondered if all the little local shops etc stock suncream if we run out? and what about pull-ups/nappies/swim nappies? I dont want to overload my case with nappies if i can buy them out there (as long as they are not extortionate) never been abroad...lots of silly questions coming> thanks....

Forget about little local shops; there are supermarkets in Majorca.

i went to majorca with a 9 month old and took enough swim nappies for our trip but took less nappies and bought more out there from the supermarket. I would say that suncream is quite expensive to buy out there so I would rather take that with me from home when there are special offers on.

there is usually a boots shop airside probably be cheaper to buy suncream there than abroad.
in majorca we used to use the supermarkets where the locals shop they were cheaper than the little shops in centre of resorts

depends if you want to use branded or not. if your not fussed then buy local goods, pampers are too expensive. like wise for suncream - avoid ambre solaire unless you want a second mortgage.

Depends really in Mallorca which resort you are going to. Local shops which are often branded Spar seem, in some cases, to inflate prices as they are mainly for the tourists but they are handy. Supermarket chains Eroski, Mercadona, Al Campo, Carrefour etc offer better value but very much like visiting a supermarket in the UK a car is your friend or indeed a taxi for the return trip if you are local. Nappies are a similar price to the UK and sun cream can be cheaper if you go for a Spanish product and the current exchange rate does of course help.
