Hello, I was wondering if I slapped a bluetooth dongle onto my telly could i stream from phone or playbook to tv. Has anyone tried this?
My telly is a couple of years old but has lots of usb holes and stuff. A dongle is only a few quid but this being money savers thought I'd ask first.

Almost certainly not. Even TV's which can use wifi dongles have to use specific ones as the driver has to be built into the TV firmware. I'm not aware of any TV which has any sort of bluetooth dongle driver built in.There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

You would need to buy a device specifically designed for it.
If you were part of the Cult of Apple then there would be AppleTV but there are other devices for those with 2nd rate devices0
