How much can I save on wooden flooring for a 22 sqm room?

Hi everyone,
I bought a new house and there is a living room of 22 sqm in it. I want to make it all wooden floor, but was told by the sales man the minimum spending would be 800 pounds. That is above my budget a little bit. Is there any way to save a little bit to make everything done within a budget of 500? I know nothing about wooden floor. The wooden floor found from websites is around 14 pound per SQM, and I just don't know why the budget could go 800 high?
Thank you.

With DIY on this, if you don't have the experience, I would suggest not taking it on. Try another company? - although I suspect that fitting might cost nearly as much as the materials and your budget might be a bit low -but I am far from the right person to comment.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Agreed.
Budget £300 for labour - more if you want skirting replaced (better job imho)
(Unless you live in london - in which case at least double it)
You could laminate in your budget but very much doubt you could have solid/engineered.
