Did you speak to Thompsons solicitors? Not a plug or recommendation but they are the most experienced IMO re industrial injuries etc. and Unite (which i think now cover the printing industry) use them. May be worth a consultation (which they should do for free)

It's exceedingly unlikely you'd get DLA just for deafness / wearing hearing aids. It's awarded if you need help with CARE or MOBILITY, so unless you can't care for yourself or go out alone then it's probably not worth claiming.

However, if you also have severe balance problems it might be a different matter.

Thompsons were the company he went to who did not want to undertake his claim.

I know this thread is from last year.

I am currently pursuing a claim for industrial deafness.

These claims can be made even if you worked for the company years ago (in my case 1975 - 1980)

However - there is a time limit of 3 years to make a claim, which is dated from the time that your industrial deafness was first diagnosed
  • Being brand new to this forum and still finding my way around! Can anyone recommend a company to use for claiming industrial deafness? Any pointers on this matter would be very much appreciated. Thank you:)
