I'd like to know too, as well as how often it needs renewing. We're tenants and have been in our flat for just over a year. I believe LL is also supposed to have boiler serviced and certificated every year, but no word yet. Am I right about the time period and should I hassle him to get it done? The boiler looks pretty old.0

All gas appliances need to be checked for safety yearly and a copy of a certificate covering all of them should be given to you. If a piece of equipment is unsafe it can either be disconnected or made safe.
For example a boiler due to providing heating and hot water would be made safe, while a gas fire particularly if there is alternative heating would be disconnected. A cooker or gas hob would be disconnected maybe leaving you with only a microwave to cook with for a few days, and then replaced.

No, very much depends on the size, number of rooms, floors of the property, and if the property (house) is let to local council. The Electrical Certificate lasts for 5 years.0 -
