Feedback left by npb....

I sold an item on Ebay as pick up only.

The winning bidder failed to collect and pay, so I opened a case and cancelled the transaction to gett my fees back.

After 2 weeks the npb has left me (pos) feedback...a single word "OK".

I thought it isn't possible to leave feedback in such circumstances?

Did you do the full NPB? If so then they shouldn't be able to leave FB.

Why didn't you do a NPB? That's the normal route if you have no contact - they buyer gets a mark & you get FVFs.
Might be worth checking your expanded dashboard incase the buyer has trashed your stars.

Great. So another timewasting bidder has got away with it.

On behalf of all the other sellers, a big thanks....

Unfortunately though, it's the wrong type of dispute. It is a bit of a giveaway in the wording....

With a NPB (they buyer hasn't paid) then unless they pay within the timeframe (4 days) the case can be closed and the buyer cannot leave any feedback. They also get a strike. Two strikes and you can't bid on most auctions.

With a cancellation, the buyer can refuse to accept it (you were lucky they didn't) and then they can leave ANY colour feedback. They can then go on to do the same to other sellers.

Make sure you block them from ruining more of your auctions.

eBay can't tell whether someone has paid or not unless you tell them.

The feedback is meaningless (it's a positive and if you buy/sell a lot the lukewarm comment will drop off the page and no-one with bother looking at it), and you got your fees back - but if there is no contact then you should really open a non-paying dispute.

If someone contacts me to tell me they don't want something, for me that's different, at least they're honest and I can sort it out and relist it sooner than with the tedious NPB process, but no contact = NPB dispute for definite.
