That's pretty much it. I thought I had made it clear in my second post.

I have the original contract stating the monthly payment but nowhere in the small print does it say the tariff is fixed. That was the salesman's lie and that is my point. At this stage it is my word against the salesman's.

Did they notify you of price rises? I've never not known this to be the case

The OP appears to have very little paper work and prices rose over time. So there must have been at least a few flags raised between the inception and cancellation of the contract that would have allowed the OP to query it.

To now be (possibly) 30 months down the line querying the bill would strike me as clutching at straws (with no written confirmation of pricing).

OP, you originally told us that npower will no longer talk to you...
I phoned npower and they now refuse to even discuss it saying that it’s been passed to the debt collector and it’s out of their hands.
Now, when their representative offers to help, you appear to refuse that offer...
Hi gabbleRatchet,

I'm sorry to hear that you feel you were quoted incorrectly by our sales rep.

If you'd like me to take a look into this and see what we can do, just pop an email to forumresponse@npower.com with your account details and query.

Best wishes,

Adam :)

I spoke to your complaints department several times on the phone and wrote 3 or 4 times and the end result was that they just passed it to a debt collection agency
Have you responded as nPower company representative suggested?

Indeed. the name "forumresponse" suggests that it's a different department and you may have more luck there.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.
