DFDS Ferry Meal Packages

Hi,
My family and I are going to Holland from Newcastle on a DFDS ferry and wonderd if anyone has experience of the pre-paid meal options on board.
I have a young family (8 and 3) and it I can't decide if it would be best to take up the options or see what the ferry has to offer once on.
I've found out that my 3 year old will be free but with dinner and Breakfast, we are looking at £100 and I'm not sure if it's value for money.
Any advice would be appreciated
cheers

We got breakfast on the way out as that meant could spend that day sightseeing on full stomach and were going out for big lunch on way to ferry, then dinner on way back as could get breakfast, if felt like it, whilst driving home. It is expensive! But cheaper than buying onboard!0

The ferry food is extremeley expensive,
My OH go on Mini cruises and usually have a good lunch at home, take a picnic to have in our cabin early evening. We bought a little travel kettle years ago and it has been worth its weight in gold, coffee/tea on board is about £2/2.50.
Next day, in Amsterdam we have something for breakfast in Amsterdam and a meal around 2.30. Usually buy a baguette to eat on the ferry again early evening.
Nothing particularly special about the food on the ferry but not bad either. Youre a captive audience see.
We go usually in March and October when its a buy one get one free offer on.
Have a good time.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
its been a fair few years since we done this ferry, we did take the meal option and thought it was good value because once you get onboard its very expensive. We opted to dine in the buffet style restaurant which meant everyone could eat what they wanted and oh could eat as much as he wanted. They did have a childrens sction of food but it was just sausages chicken nuggets ect and both my girls left that and went for "adut" food. We also did breakfast as it sets you up for the day in amsterdam.0
